India's RCom Signs 3G Roaming Agreement

Note -- this news article is more than a year old.
Three of India's mobile networks have reportedly signed a 3G roaming agreement across their respective circles.
Citing a statement from the company, local media reported Reliance Communications (RCom) as saying that it had signed a roaming agreement with Tata Teleservices and Aircel.
The roaming agreements are said to cover TTSL and Aircel's 3G networks in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, UP-East and UP-West, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
RCom's 3G network currently covered 13 circles, and can now offer effectively a nationwide 3G network.
At time of writing, RCom does not appear to have confirmed the news on its own press service.
A key issue is however whether such roaming agreements are allowed. Other mobile networks, including Vodafone, Idea Cellular and Bharti Airtel also signed similar agreements, and were ordered to stop them by the government.
That matter is still working its way through the courts.
