Reliance Jio Planning 2,000 Retail Stores Ahead of Network Launch

India's Reliance Infocomm is planning to open a chain of 2 000 retail stores as its Reliance Jio mobile network prepares to launch services later this year.
The Digital Xpress Mini branded stores will be company owned and operated, which marks it out as different from most of the other mobile networks who often prefer franchise operations.
Franchises are harder to control quality, but they do enable small businesses to be set up and thrive away from the larger dominant companies.
The new Reliance stores will be modest sized affairs, with a report that they will average 250 square feet each, and will offer all the Reliance telecoms products.
