Thailand's Dtac says that it has started drive testing its LTE network ahead of its commercial launch.

The 2.1Ghz based LTE network is being deployed by Ericsson, and coverage is currently available in the inner Bangkok area.

In a statement Dtac said that it has started the testing of the network ahead of the launch, which is due to be "commercially launched in the near future", although it was vague on the expected launch date.

According to Ericsson, the LTE on 2100MHz rollout began in February 2014.
