Huawei Upgrades Vodafone's Greek Network

Vodafone Greece has announced the launch of a HSPA upgrade to its network, offering a theoretical peak download rate of 28.8Mbps and upload rate of up to 5.8Mbps. According to independent trials conducted in active network conditions, the maximum peak download speeds recorded at end user application level are in the range of 22 Mbps. Typical user speeds will vary based on local network conditions.
Upgraded HSPA+ MIMO Mobile Broadband services will initially be provided in selected areas of Athens, with plans to expand this elsewhere in the country and it will be commercially available in Greece by the end of the current year.
Huawei provided the network upgrade.
In urban areas, Vodafone Greece is rapidly upgrading the mobile broadband network via HSDPA 14.4 Mbps & HSPA+ 21.6 Mbps capabilities.
