HTC Accidentally Leaks Details of its Own Smartphone

Note -- this news article is more than a year old.
Although HTC has not formally shown off its anticipated lower cost version of the HTC One M8 smartphone, most of the details have now appeared on its own website.
Only the Chinese version of their website, and a massively bloated webpage that may hurt older computers though.
What is thought to be known as the HTC One M8 Ace, is a plastic shell version of the M8, and according to HTC's own website appears to be borrowing a lot of details from the predecessor smartphone, the M7.
So, in essence, its an M7 externally with M8 specifications internally. Whether that is a cost saving measure due to unsold stocks of M7 chassis and casings is open to speculation.
As with the M8 though, the lower cost model comes with the same 2.5Ghz Snapdragon processor, a 5 megapixel front facing camera and LTE support.
The main other difference is that the Ace model comes with a single 13 megapixel camera on the rear rather than the twin-configuration that the flagship model offers.
The smartphone is due to be officially announced next week.
