Sony Mobile Starts Android Smartphone Software Upgrades

Sony Mobile has announced that the latest software upgrade for Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z devices starts from today rolling in selected markets, with more to follow over the coming weeks.
If you've got a Sony PlayStation 4, you might recognize their new user interface -- they've added the same sleek launch animation and live wallpaper across the lock and home screens. Users also get a revamped Status Bar and Quick Settings, which Sony Mobile said will be more intuitive and customisable.
In addition, they are "uplifting" all the built-in Sony apps.
- Messaging -- a few UI adjustments here & there, including a slicker "send" animation, and deeper Emoji support.
- Email -- both load and see more mails, and a split screen modes divide info for easy digest.
- Smart Social Camera -- the company's social imaging software makes its debut on the first Z Series devices; a selection of Xperia Camera apps directly accessible from the viewfinder.
- Battery Stamina Mode - offering smarter data management & more for prolonging the battery duration.
In addition, Xperia Themes now come with with downloadable UI packs from Sony Select.
Next, Sony said that it will start rolling Android 4.4 KitKat for Xperia T2 Ultra, Xperia E1 and Xperia M2 (and dual variants) from July.
