The head designer at struggling Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC has reportedly resigned from the company and will leave shortly.
The departure of Scott Croyle is the most senior executive to leave since its public relations chief resigned in October, according to two people familiar with the move.
Citing the two sources, Bloomberg News reported that he tendered his resignation earlier this year, but agreed to stay with the firm until after the company's latest smartphone, the HTC One M8 was released.
Scott Croyle joined the company in 2008 when HTC bought his independent design company, One & Co Design. He was promoted to the head design post at HTC in 2011 following the departure of Horace Luke.
Croyle's departure is the sixth senior resignation at the company in the past three years.
"HTC remains at the forefront of smartphone innovation. Scott Croyle will be focusing on special projects and dedicated on next generation developments," HTC said in an e-mail.
