Apple is reported to have placed orders for its next generation iPhone batteries with just two suppliers slightly reversing a recent trend to diversify its supply chain.
Citing sources within the supply chain, DigiTimes reported that orders have gone to Taiwan-based Simplo Technology and China-based Shenzhen Desay Battery Technology.
The company supplying batteries for the two current iPhone models, Dynapack is reported to have not secured any orders for the iPhone 6 batteries.
It was noted though that Dynapack could pick up orders once the iPhone 6 goes into full production.
Dynapack is still the battery supplier for the iPhone 5 and will continue to supply batteries until 2015.
