Sony Mobile Expands Android OS Upgrades to More Handsets

Sony Mobile says that its latest Android OS software rollout for Xperia Z Ultra Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z1 Compact is starting.
In addition to the core Android 4.4 KitKat software, Sony Mobile has added its own tweaked Status Bar and Quick Settings which it says have been cleaned up to ensure users only get the notifications they need
The new user interface is also based on the Sony PlayStation 4 aesthetic, and the company added the same launch animation and livewallpaper across the lock and home screens.
They've also upgraded entire native app portfolio to the latest versions - bringing tweaked / improved / current experiences for: Messaging, MyXperia, Smart Connect, Small apps, TrackID, TrackID TV, Sony Select, Smart Social Camera, etc.
The company said that they will start rolling Android 4.4 KitKat for Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia Tablet Z - and Xperia ZR - from mid-Q2.
And, finally, they plan to make Android 4.4; KitKat available for Xperia T2 Ultra, Xperia E1 and Xperia M2.
