SingTel Looking to Beef Up its Advertising Portfolio

Singapore based SingTel is said to be in advanced talks to buy a USA based advertising agency.

SingTel could be buying Kontera Technologies for around USD160 million, according to the Wall Street Journal, citing sources familiar with the matter

Kontera tracks content on social-media sites and was founded in 2000 by CEO Yoav Shaham and COO Assaf Henkin. It has a US headquarters, and an Israeli development centre.

The ad agency's estimated revenue was some USD50 million in 2011m and it has raised around USD36 million in venture funding.

SingTel is building up a digital platform, having acquired the mobile ad agency, Amobee for US$321 in March 2012.

Kontera operates by inserting adverts as weblinks into news and content articles.
