American Tower Said to be Eying Two Tower Deals in Israel

Note -- this news article is more than a year old.
USA based tower operator, American Tower is reported to be in talks to buy the tower assets of two Israeli mobile networks.
Both Pelephone and Cellcom are reported to be in talks for the sale, which is also being seen as a way of avoiding a forthcoming regulatory headache.
The two mobile networks have already agreed, in principle to share their passive infrastructure, but the anti-trust regulator is said to be wary of the deal. Selling the towers to an independent 3rd-party operator would help resolve concerns about the two mobile networks working in concert.
Citing unnamed sources, Globes reported that American Tower initially contacted the two mobile networks last year, but there seemed to be little interest at the time. Now that the regulatory headaches are causing problems, the talks are said to have resumed.
None of the companies commented on the report.
