Hutchison Reduces its 3G Rollout Plans

The tower management firm, Crown Castle has modified its agreement with Hutchison 3G UK for its commitment to minimum base station numbers. The companies had signed an agreement for 4,000 base stations over a four year period, but this has now been reduced to a minimum guarantee of 1,350 sites.

Under terms of the original agreement, Hutchison had committed to lease space on a minimum of 1,000 sites per year, for the years 2001 - 2004. The lease term at each site will be 25 years, with provisions for annual increases in rental rates and for periodic open market reviews.
