MMS Sent As a Postcard
InAMobile says that Club Nokia has launched its MMS Postcard solution to over 750,000 subscribers in Denmark and Norway. The "MMS Postcard" solution enables mobile subscribers with MMS handsets to take a picture and send it instantly to their friends and family as a physical postcard.
Jonathan Smith (UK Marketing Manager) "We have seen that, following an initial period, most subscribers MMS usage is service based, not pier to pier. This is, in part due to the number of MMS handsets in the market today. The MMS Postcard solution is one of range of MMS2Print solutions which we have launched, breaking down the barriers between the electronic m-commerce world and the traditional print, by creating the first mobile solution spanning the two. For that reason alone, we see the potential for such solutions as enormous."
On Friday 12th September, Club Nokia emailed all 750,000 subscribers detailing the MMS Postcard solution, and offering two free postcards to every subscriber. To use the system, the subscribers simply log into a website and enter their mobile number. They are then sent a Vcard(business card for their mobile phone) which contains the service name and details, which they save to their handset. To send a postcard they simply send a picture, by MMS to that service name."
