MMS's Sent Between Jordan and Kuwait
Kuwait's MTC-Vodafone and Jordan's Fastlink have announced that they have secured an agreement to enable MMS's to be sent between the two countries. In commenting on the new service, Haitham Al Khaled, Deputy Director General for MTC said: "I am delighted that we have yet again brought another first to Kuwait and Jordan. In actual fact, this is not just another first for our two countries but it is the first multi-media international connection of its kind between operators in the Middle East! With the cutting edge technologies we are introducing into our Bahrain operation; the significant steps we have made in Kuwait plus the far reaching solutions in place at Fastlink, it is very clear that the MTC Group of Companies are truly moving towards the goal of having a real regional presence. Our plan is to continue to bring more innovation and services to the market ensuring that our customers always get the best service here and wherever they travel around the world. Fastlink was the first to launch MMS - Rassel MMS in the Middle East and Africa, whilst MTC launched its MMS service - MTC WOW - in Kuwait in December last year and has grown its capabilities month on month. Customers can send pictures and cards from phone to phone plus picture postcards, greeting cards, cartoons, audio-clips, phonic ring tones, play endless and ever changing games plus much, much more! And there is still more to come!"
Bashar Arafeh, Marketing and Mobile Data Services Director at Fastlink, Jordan, responded, "This is a real milestone and an important leap in the Middle East's mobile telecommunications sector - a prelude to connecting all cellular networks across the Region - ensuring that swapping multi-media messages becomes an easy part of everyday life, very similar to the way most people consider sending an SMS without a thought or worry. Subscribers can attach a photograph and a voice recording of one of their family members and send to their relatives in Jordan or Kuwait. So much closer than ever before."
Fastlink is majority owned by MTC-Vodafone."
