New Colour Handset from Siemens

Siemens has launched a new handset, the ST55. The phone supports 65,000 colours in a TFT colour screen, and a camera with 4x zoom. The dimensions are 98.5 x 47.2 x 21.6 millimeters - and it weighs 87 grams. The large TFT color display of 65,000 brilliant colors and a resolution of 120 x 160 pixels ensure excellent entertainment quality. With an inbuilt photo album keeping pictures of favorite moments, enough space is provided (around1.2 Mb) for a host of photos.

Features such as polyphonic ringtones, which users can also compose themselves in 40-tone sound quality, offers an opportunity for personalization. Additional ringtones and logos can be downloaded from the Web or via WAP 2.0; and with GPRS 10 the ST55 ensures rapid page setup. There are on-board strategy and action games for entertainment.

Energy efficient too, the ST55 switches off automatically at a time pre-defined by the user.

The Siemens ST55 has a standby time of up to 140 hours and a talk time of about 4.5 hours. The standard package includes the ST55 handset, Li-Ion battery with 750 mAh power, mains charger and a user guide. The camera phone will be available across Europe from August."
