The British software house, Silicon Village has launchedthe latest version of their independent end-to-end solution for sending secure SMS messages. The new encryption application provides secure end-to-end data transmission for SMS messages on the Sony P800 UIQ platforms. Developed by expert, Dr. David Reynolds, Fortress SMS is a phone based application that sends encrypted SMS messages and decrypts coded SMS messages when received.

The messages are stored in an encrypted form and password protected, so protecting them from casual or determined prying.The potential applications of Fortress, in conjunction with message concatenationinclude, M-commerce, Patient messaging, Legal notes , Secure database access and e-voting amongst others.
