David Beckham Gets a New Mobile Phone

David Beckham, the footballer who acts as the lead advertiser for Vodafone Live has received a new Sharp GX20 handset following his recent football transfer to Real Madrid in Spain. Vodafone says that David will also have access to services such as Madrid restaurant guides, as well as the Vodafone translation service, assisting him during his first few months in communicating with fellow team mates and friends who do not speak English and helping him to discover the secrets of his new home city.

Not the only foreigner living in Spain, Beckham, as well as other Vodafone Spain customers can also benefit from the option to receive customer services assistance in various languages, including English, German, French, Italian or even regional languages of Spain, such as Catalan. Not only will his calls be attended in his own language, but in addition, he can also opt to receive his bills in English.

Vodafone Group has a personal two year image rights deal with David Beckham, the ex-Manchester United, and now Real Madrid footballer, and the agreement enables Vodafone to generate unique mobile content for his followers, as well as use him within advertisements, as they have done in both the UK on their first global advertising campaign for Vodafone live! and more recently in Japan, in an advert filmed at the time of the announcement of Beckham's planned transfer to Madrid.
