Horse Gambling over a 3G Network
With its new UMTS platform for mobile betting on horse races, the German provider of mobile gambling software company, scaraboo allows users to place bets via mobile devices such as Pocket PCs and mobile phones. Scaraboo, a portfolio company of Siemens Mobile Acceleration, developed the UMTS platform for horse racing in cooperation with Bremer Rennbahn. The company's technology features digital bet placement and the transmission of live results and images to mobile devices. This system is not only interesting for users, but also for network operators and betting agencies. The modular gambling platform allows to migrate to UMTS technology quickly and cost-effectively.
Scaraboo is one of Germany's leading providers of mobile betting and gaming software solutions. Via its Multimedia Messaging Service or live streaming via UMTS, the horse racing platform offers betting fans new information and interaction capabilities. At the same time betting agencies and network operators will profit from the new platform: The potential revenue of the various services of the UMTS horse racing platform alone in this segment of mobile betting is estimated at about 6 million euros annually, most of which is generated by bets revenue and fee-based services.
Particularly noteworthy: the system offers full personalization and localization of bettors via location-based services (LBS) and GPS. The feature opens up new possibilities since betting is actually controlled by the states, and only people who are physically located in a state may bet there.
