HTC Licenses Ericsson Software
Taiwan's High Tech Computer Corporation (HTC) has selected Ericsson Mobile Platforms to supply 3G mobile platform system solutions for the development of advanced wireless devices, under the terms of a new license agreement. The agreement between HTC and Ericsson will enable HTC to create a complete wireless device portfolio across the major technologies EDGE and WCDMA.
HTC is the company that manufactures the Microsoft Smartphone sold by several networks worldwide.
Ericsson Mobile Platforms is providing their extensive package of field-proven, end-to-end integrated solutions, containing hardware, the software platform, complete network signaling stack, and an open Application Programming Interface (API).

Under the agreement, HTC is developing value-added 3G wireless devices based on Ericsson's mobile platform technology. Ericsson holds the world's largest portfolio and 3G Intellectual Property Rights."
