Rain Floods Base Stations

Malaysia's GSM network, Maxis' service in certain areas around the Kuala Lumpur city centre was temporarily disrupted on 11 June due to a heavy downpour in the evening. The downpour flooded a few of Maxis' cell sites' equipment rooms. In addition, power supply had to be shut down due to the flood.

Most of the affected sites serve the following and surrounding areas: Jln Tunku Abdul Rahman, Jln Raja Laut, Jln Masjid India, Jln Tun Perak, Pertama Complex, Campbell Complex, Semua House and Plaza Putra. As a result, customers had encountered difficulties in making and receiving calls in these areas.

Maxis' technical team has rectified the matter and service was restored."
