AOL Jumps on the Ring Tone Bandwagon
The UK based mobile content aggregator, Amplefuture and AOL UK have signed a strategic marketing and content agreement. The deal includes the creation, development and distribution of a wide range of content for mobile phones and multimedia handheld devices.
Amplefuture and AOL are working closely together to develop and maintain AOL's new mobile content area that includes Ringtones, Logos, Screensavers, Java Games, Wallpapers, Celebrity Voicemails, and MMS Services. The selection will be available to AOL members in the UK in the new mobile area from AOL Keyword: Mobile. Ringtones consistently appear in the top 10 search terms on AOL Search, demonstrating the massive demand for a constant variety and wide selection of new musical rings.Derek Byrne Amplefuture's Managing Director said, "The significant amount of ringtone enquiries on AOL's website proves that mobile content is popular, and people continue to want to personalise their phones."In the upcoming months Amplefuture and AOL UK will further integrate mobile content with other popular aspects of AOL UK such as music clips from featured artists, and graphics and video scenes of popular films. More content will be rolled-out over the next six months as the area is expanded and will be continually renovated with up-to-date features. Exclusive ringtones will also be offered on the AOL Music Service."Posted to the site on 16th June 2003
