Customer Care Goes Cross Border in Asia

Hong Kong's SmarTone has announced its collaboration with China's Guangdong Mobile (part of China Mobile) on extending customer services for all customers travelling between Hong Kong, Macau and Guangdong Province. If SmarTone's Hong Kong and Macau customers lose their SIM cards while roaming in Guangdong Province, they can go to designated Guangdong Mobile's sales and customer service centers for immediate SIM card replacement and resumption of roaming service.

For Guangdong Mobile's customers roaming in Hong Kong and Macau, SmarTone will provide reciprocal support services.

"We are pleased to collaborate with Guangdong Mobile on extending the support service which is provided on reciprocal basis from Zhuhai to other cities in Guangdong Province so that the roaming needs of customers travelling in Hong Kong, Macau and Guangdong Province can be well-taken care of. This reciprocal service arrangement with Guangdong Mobile enables our customers to continue to 'Get Closer' to the people, the information and the entertainment that are important to them. We will continue to maintain the high level of service wherever our customers are," said Douglas Li, Chief Executive Officer of SmarTone.

The service is now available in five cities of Guangdong Province, namely Guangzhou, Zhongshan, Dongguan, Shenzhen and Zhuhai."
