Burkina Faso to Improve Messaging Capacity
Glenayre Technologies has announced that Onatel, the national fixed and wireless carrier of Burkina Faso, will use it's Versera Solution platform to more than double its messaging subscriber capacity and develop new revenue-generating enhanced services for the West African region.
"Africa accounts for more than 13% of the global population and is one of the fastest growing communications markets in the world," said Bill Edwards, senior vice president of sales, marketing and customer service for Glenayre. "Glenayre has delivered advanced messaging solutions to African operators for more than five years, and our Versera Solutions are providing revenue- generating services in nine African countries. We are delighted to work with Onatel through their rapid expansion plans. Our Versera Solution platform will provide them with a cost-effective, scalable solution that can help Onatel keep pace with growing network demands and launch new services that promote continued customer loyalty."
"Since 2000, Onatel has consistently delivered reliable communications services including voice messaging, SMS and prepaid solutions for mobile environments," said Felix Compaore, director of mobile telecommunications for Onatel. "Today we provide services to more than 40% of Burkina Faso's subscribers, and are actively preparing for continued growth. Glenayre's Versera Solution platform provides the scalability we need to support our expansion plans, and a robust backbone from which to launch powerful enhanced services like CallOut(TM) one-button call return, family mailboxes and auto attendant features for small businesses."
Glenayre's Versera Solution platform provides highly differentiated services to communications providers who seek new and innovative tools and services. The system is built to deliver any number of enhanced services, including voice-activated and multimedia messaging services, from a single platform."
