Vodafone Malta's MMS service has been enhanced. Vodafone MMS customers who own a Nokia 7650 phone model can now also install a video recorder on their phone, which extends the phone with support for recording, playing and sending video clips.
Vodafone launched its MMS service in December 2002. This new service gained immediate popularity with well over 2,300 Vodafone customers making use of this service to date. With the Video recorder on the Nokia 7650, Vodafone MMS customers can now record and store video clips. They can also play locally stored video clips. Customers can also send created video clips via E-mail, Bluetooth, MMS and Infrared to compatible devices. The Nokia 7650 Video recorder can be downloaded from the Nokia web site (http://www.nokia.com/cda1/0,1080,2019,00.html)
"Pictures are at least as important as speech and text for communication, and MMS allows people to communicate using all these modes of expression, either simultaneously or separately. Picture messages have opened up entirely new opportunities for sharing moments and moods with others, whether everyday or special occasions," said Joseph C. Grioli, Managing Director at Vodafone Malta. "The MMS technology is constantly evolving and Vodafone customers will always be the first to continue benefiting from the best communication methods,"
The facility to send images through Vodafone's web site has also been very popular with customers. Numerous images have been sent and received via this service which is similar to the free SMS service available to customers registered to the My Vodafone section on the website. All Vodafone customers can upload any images saved on their computer and send them to any Vodafone Malta MMS customer. Vodafone customers are currently able to send 3 free MMS messages daily from My Vodafone."
