SprintPCS Signs Communications Agreement

The American CDMA network, SprintPCS has signed a three-year, multimillion-dollar communications services agreement with SchlumbergerSema, the IT business segment of global technology services company Schlumberger.

Through the agreement, Sprint will deliver a multisite frame relay network to carry internal and external communications for SchlumbergerSema in the U.S. SchlumbergerSema has currently purchased Sprint PCS wireless services, and is implementing a system of wireless data Air Cards and Sprint PCS Vision data services to connect its people to critical data and applications around the country anytime, anywhere while on the enhanced Sprint Nationwide PCS Network.

"Schlumberger is taking a highly enlightened approach to its communications services by combining an extensive wireline network with new technologies, like PCS Vision, to connect people to each other and to critical information anytime, anywhere on our PCS network," said Gary D. Forsee, chief executive officer, Sprint. "Sprint has the unique ability to deliver nationwide wireline and wireless voice and data service, enabling us to create solutions that meet the diverse needs of customers like Schlumberger."
