Natural Language SMS Solution Comes to France

LogicaCMG France and Dejima have announced a partnership agreement to deploy Dejima Direct Mobile Messaging solutions in France. The agreement provides carriers, service providers, and application developers with LogicaCMG's system integration, hosting and maintenance capabilities for their development and deployment of Dejima Direct-enabled applications. The relationship will also allow LogicaCMG to offer consulting services, leveraging the integration of the Dejima Direct Platform with LogicaCMG's services platform.

Dejima Direct Mobile Messaging is a suite of products that enables carriers, service providers and application developers to eliminate the need for numerous keywords and menus. With Dejima Direct, end-users can send SMS requests to applications, using their own words, including abbreviations, colloquialisms, slang, SMS speak -- whatever comes naturally. Dejima Direct Mobile Messaging interprets the user's request, retrieves the information or executes the transaction, and delivers the result back to the user as a reply to his/her initial request. Such ease of use results in increased service traffic and service stickiness, generating greater revenue for Dejima Direct licensees.

LogicaCMG and Dejima are already working together on commercial deployments for Orange France.

"We believe in Dejima Direct Mobile Messaging's ability to accelerate usage of mobile data services," said Stephane Dubois, managing director of LogicaCMG in France. "Dejima is making most useful information accessible in a single step via mobile messaging. Users are able to send SMS queries such as 'results of F1 GP,' 'Italian food in Versailles,' 'last lotto results,' 'jazz club 2nite in cannes' to a short number and directly receive SMS answers on their cell phones. That's a unique capability, with applicability across many applications and carrier portals."
