Axesstel to Develop CDMA2000 Handset

Axesstel has signed a product development and engineering agreement with a major mobile handset and communications provider valued at more than US$7 million, for the development and engineering of a new CDMA2000-based handset product for consumers worldwide. Additional terms of the contract were not disclosed.

The mobile device will set the bar for affordability and robust features in the mass consumer marketplace. The product is scheduled for distribution worldwide later this year.

"This announcement signals another milestone in Axesstel's history of providing turnkey engineering services for advanced wireless products," said Satoru Yukie, president and CEO of Axesstel. "This contract further demonstrates Axesstel's strong commitment to the CDMA2000 platform and next-generation wireless products, and illustrates the company's engineering and design expertise."
