Danish Customers to Get Combined Data Tariff.

Denmark's Sonofon has decided to merge its data tariffs, and no longer split the sales of its GPRS and HSCSD services. The change is designed to make it easier for users to switch between the two services depending on which is best for the data communications being used. For example, GPRS is very good for internet communications, but HSCSD is much better for video type communications.

"Sonofon aim to enable people to communicate simply and securely as they like, when they like and where they like. The various advantages of the two technologies have now been combined into a single service. Subscribers do not have to decide in advance which technology is best for them to use. In some situations, where instant access to data is important, subscribers can use High Speed Data, but if on the other hand they need to be on-line all the time and receive modest data streams, such as e-mail, then GPRS is best," says Steen H
