Proximus to Offer Fixed Fee WAP Access
Belgium's Proximus is launching a new service that gives its PrePay tariff customers easy access to a broad range of WAP services. The major advantage is that customers will be able to consult all these information services without having to worry about how long it takes to download the wap pages. It costs US$0.55 per session of 100 KB or some 100 pages.
The advantage access to the information services via a GPRS mobile is that customers can consult the services without having to worry about how long they are connected. The session time is not billed. Customers remain accessible during the session, and the connection is not broken when calls are made or received.
The symbol EURO is displayed on the GSM screen before the information is accessed. Customers can then decide for themselves whether or not to go any further.
Customers can compile their own lists of information services instead of using the standard list of all the services. To do this, customers register as users. They can then make their own personal choice on the My WAP personal settings page."
