Anite 3G Test Kit Validated by Certification Forum
Anite has announced approval of the company's validated 3G test cases by the Global Certification Forum (GCF). The GCF-approved test cases from Anite enable the testing and verification of mobile phones and wireless terminals for use on 3G networks. This formal approval distinguishes Anite as the first and only company in the world to offer 3G test cases accepted for use by the GCF, the governing body responsible for directing development and introduction of 3G services throughout Europe.
Anite's GCF-approved test cases will accelerate the rollout of 3G services by providing wireless carriers the assurance that UMTS handsets operate as intended on their respective 3G network. The GCF-approved test cases from Anite are based on test specifications developed by 3GPP and have been proven against a number of reference handset implementations by an independent test house.
"The GCF approval of 3G test cases from Anite is a significant milestone for the entire industry," said Daniel Oosthuizen, director, Anite. "We have lacked to this point a definitive standard for measuring and certifying the operation of terminals and other devices on next-generation networks."
Anite announced last month its initial release of 200 3G test cases. This rapid build-up of 3G test case technology is key to the rapid yet reliable launch of 3G services."
