Bluefish Launches New Range of SIM Toolkit Applications
Bluefish Technologies has announced a new range of SIM based applications aimed at Network Operators. All the applications are predominantly based on the SIM Toolkit, which means they are suitable for implementation now, on all current 2G GSM networks and will work on all Phase 2+ phones (currently over 80% of phones in use worldwide).
The Bluefish range of menu driven applications include Prepay TopUp, a through-the-handset-now alternative to scratch cards and vouchers. Ringtone download enables users to search and pay for a wide range of ringtones. SIMecho provides peace of mind by automatically backing up selected data such as a users address book to a network server. SIM Callback allows continued access to network services even when roaming and has the added benefit of allowing the Network Operator to control the cost of roaming calls.
Working with partners to deliver a total SIM solution is the key. Bluefish Information Services for example are pulled down to the phone when and where required by the subscriber rather than being pushed out by the Operator at scheduled times. This is achieved using a simple easy-to-use menu and does not require a WAP phone.
Another innovative offering is MobileWrite-Up!, which capitalises on the boom in mobile messaging by offering web-type interactive information services. This provides a parallel web experience accessing rich content that enables users to create their own sites, directories and links.
Multi IMSI completes the range, allowing each SIM to hold more than one account enabling a user to switch from say a work to a personal account and automatically to a preferred network when roaming, thus reducing the cost of calls."
