Huawei Launches Smallest 3G Node B
China's Huawei Technologie has launched what it says is the world's smallest WCDMA Node B. Huawei will demonstrate a wide range of 3G services at PT/EXPO COMM CHINA 2002 through this newly-released 3G Node B.
The Huawei indoor macro-cell Node B is only 1.4 meter high, representing the most highly integrated macro Node B in the industry. As for capacity, a single cabinet can support up to 12 carrier sectors, an equivalent of 16 GSM BTSs. This indoor macro Node B is fully able to address the networking deployment requirement in the downtown area. Two important objectives in its design are to maximally cut down carriers' network construction cost and meet their needs of fast-growing 3G users in the future."
