ChessGenius has released a version of their chess software for the Nokia 7650 cell phone. The program has been written by Richard Lang, who is a ten times Computer Chess World Champion.

The say that the program supports 30 playing levels including easy and blitz - Chess clocks - Move record - Display of thinking - Save/load game. Superb playing strength. The authors chess programs have won ten world championships. The program also supports some of the less familiar rules of chess including: draw by repetition, 50 move rule, en passant, castling and under-promotion.

ChessGenius can play against itself or allow two player games.

More "adult" games should appeal to owners who are tired of the continuing run of arcade games, and the file size is a surprisingly small 65kb. The company is promising free updates for early adoptors of the program.
