Wireless Matrix Wins Base Station Order

The Canadian firm, Wireless Matrix has received an order for 10,000 Mobile Base Stations (MBS) and associated Wide Area Wireless services from a major USA based corporation in the field services industry. Wireless Matrix will begin shipping the MBS immediately and continue deliveries with the majority of the deliveries scheduled to be completed prior to end of the third quarter and with all units being activated for Wide Area Wireless services by May 2003.

"This single order represents approximately US$40 - US$50 million in combined product revenue and estimated three-year service revenue for Wireless Matrix." stated John Herring, President and CEO of Wireless Matrix. "As well, this order represents an increase in our active mobile subscriber base by 60% and puts our booked and active mobile subscriber base in excess of 24,000 by the end of FY2003."

Wireless Matrix will recognize approximately US$26 million in hardware revenues in FY2003 and US$4-US$8 million per year in service revenues. Additionally, as a result of increased efficiencies in the manufacturing process and large volume procurement activities, Wireless Matrix will recognize better than planned bottom line contributions from the hardware revenues.'"
