O2 to Increase Their SMS Capacity

Logica has signed an agreement with O2 Germany, O2 Ireland and O2 UK to extend the capacity of SMS services on all three networks. This is a sign that )2 is using its bulk buying capacity to order products for all its networks simultaneously.

"Reliability of network coverage is a major issue for mobile networks, and a key determinant to people opting for a particular network," said Chris McDermott, Chief Executive Logica Mobile Networks, "Logica is delighted to be able to work with O2, to help them maximise the return on investment they have made in SMS services, while also offering customers ever improving quality of service."

Logica Mobile Networks has been distributing SMS messages for various group companies within the mmO2 mobile phone network for over six years. Using Logica's SMS Centre the company sends and delivers SMS messages across the O2 network to and from other mobile phone networks.'"
