Sonofon Updates its Billing Mediation Software

Published on:

Intec Telecom Systems has signed a deal with Denmark's Sonofon for its Inter-mediatE convergent mediation technology. The agreement, valued in the region of US$1.56 million, will provide Sonofon with the capability to collect and process usage data on voice, data and SMS traffic on its GSM and GPRS network. Sonofon, jointly owned by Telenor and BellSouth, cited Inter-mediatE's reputation for flexibility and proven performance in high traffic mobile networks as key reasons for its selection over other mediation solutions it considered.

Intec's Inter-mediatE platform will collect and process a wide range of data for Sonofon, including GSM voice and SMS traffic, and information from GPRS Charging Gateways, before delivering it to retail, interconnect and other downstream systems such as fraud management. This critical role means that the proven reliability of Inter-mediatE in over 100 fixed, mobile, IP and 3G networks worldwide was key to Sonofon's confidence in the product.'"
