Czech Network Orders Bill Rating Software

The Czech Republic's Eurotel Praha has ordered Sepro's rating software, e-Rate* Rating. According to Sepro, the "billing" issues that many operators face are in fact rating challenges. Legacy billing systems contain inflexible rating engines that are not able to support sophisticated charging parameters that are needed to drive adoption of mobile data, content and commerce. Sepro maintains that operators should protect their 2G systems that are generating revenues from voice, as these are a major component of their profits. Instead of replacing these systems, they should look to implementing solutions like e-Rate* Rating that enhance, protect and maximise these investments, offering minimum impact and maximum re-use of resources and data.

Paul Long, Chief Strategy and Development Officer of Eurotel commented, "We needed a solution that would support our 3.6 million customers and their growing enthusiasm for new services. Sepro helped us to create the vision for a unified rating solution and we quickly realised that this was the way forward, rather than putting our 2G revenue systems at risk, through replacement or migration" He ends, "e-Rate Rating will support all of our products and services, so we can exploit all of the opportunities that are available to us in mobile data as well as voice, such as offering incremental pricing for voice services."'"
