US Network Signs GPRS Roaming Agreement
Dobson Communications, the USA based TDAM network, that is migrating to GSM has signed a GPRS roaming agreement with TSI Telecommunication Services (TSI). TSI's inpack GRX network solution provides a platform that will allow Dobson to connect its GPRS network with GPRS network operators worldwide allowing its subscribers to use GPRS mobile data services while roaming. TSI is the GRX provider for all major North American GSM operators and also provides GRX services in Asia-Pacific.
"A cornerstone of Dobson's growth strategy is to provide our customers with the most advanced wireless services, as well as a network that is fully interoperable with our major roaming partners, AT&T Wireless and Cingular Wireless," said Everett Dobson, chairman and chief executive officer. "As we overlay our networks to GSM/GPRS over the next 18 months, we are confident that TSI's support will be a key element in delivering the most advanced applications in mobile data to our customers and those of our roaming partners, as they travel through Dobson's markets."
