Motorola has suffered a severe PR disaster when details of several of the cell phones it is planning to launch next year were leaked. The company is currently conducting an investigation to find our how a PowerPoint presentation detailing their new product range found its way onto a public web server.
Most notable of the proposed handsets are the A835, a handset which comes with 2 way video conferencing, a large screen (looks like 10 lines) and can use MP3's as ringtones. Also, the E360R - which includes a built in camera, along with Java games. It comes with a comparatively small screen for a camera phone and is not due until Q3 next year.
The company's smart phone is the Paragon 2 - presumably a successor to the still to be launched 3G compatible Paragon smart phone. This will be a Symbian based handset that will also support 802.11 connectivity - ideal for cellular networks that have roaming agreements (or own) a WLAN hotspot service. The phone doesn't appear to have a keyboard - so the screen probably doubles up as a touch screen, displaying a virtual keyboard when necessary. The handset is understood to be a dual mode handset supporting triple band GSM (900,1800 & 1900) as well as WCDMA.'"
