Lithuania to Get MMS This Month

Lithuania's Omnitel has said that it is to offer MMS from late September. Omnitel is using Nokia equipment to implement the MMS technology in its network.
"The number of short SMS messages sent in Lithuania has been growing very fast so far. Today modern technologies add a new quality to messages sent via a phone and offer unique possibilities to their users. We seek to offer the most state-of-the-art technologies and the latest possibilities enabled by them to our customers - MMS will become the first service allowing the transmission of images via a mobile network," said Rytis Overlingas, Senior Manager of Omnitel's IT projects.'"
