Location Based Services Tested on TDMA Network

LocatioNet has announced that their LBS middleware platform and LBS interface to the Ericsson TDMA system were successfully tested recently for interoperability within Ericsson TDMA Systems, located in Montreal, Canada. The LocatioNet middleware platform interfaces with Ericsson TDMA cell-based location interface enablers for delivery of Pull and Push location-based services in TDMA wireless markets, for consumer and corporate segments.

TDMA wireless operators are looking for solutions to accelerate the demand for additional airtime and data traffic to capitalize on their TDMA investments and remain competitive. The introduction of Location-based Services (LBS) is an excellent opportunity for allowing a large number of subscribers to familiarize themselves with LBS applications in TDMA, which will increase customer comfort level and will pave the way towards more advanced LBS services, such as MMS in GSM/CDMA.'"
