T-Mobile Improves its Voicemail Service

T-Mobile in Germany has incorporated Comverse's "call return" facility into its voicemail server. Call return integrates a single-keypress call-back option into the voicemail system. The service, offered to T-Mobile's contract customers, is expected to generate additional revenues by increasing call traffic. Currently in use by more than 50 wireless and wireline operators around the world, call return is cited by T-Mobile as one of the most popular and successful enhanced services. Call return is one of the key components of the Comverse ImPact solution which is designed to support an increase in ARPU through capabilities such as enhanced messaging and notification, music-based entertainment applications, and a voice-controlled user interface.

Call return is the second new mailbox service recently offered by T-Mobile to all of its customers. T-Mobile also recently introduced Comverse call capture service in April 2002, which reports via voicemail the phone numbers of callers who don't leave messages. Coupled with call return, the customer does not need to dial a number to return a call - simply pushing the call-back key will suffice. The service is predicated on the ability of the network to support Calling Line ID and on the willingness of users to have their number revealed.

Zeev Bregman, CEO of Comverse said, "In the current macro-economic environment, operators are focusing primarily on increasing their ARPU and preventing churn. At Comverse we are demonstrating our commitment to our network operator customers by providing solutions that answer their very specific needs. Our ImPact Solution is one of our answers to the need for an increase in ARPU. We are very pleased that T-Mobile has selected our call return as part of their advanced messaging offering."'"
