New Camera Phone from Sharp
Japan's J-PHONE has said that it will begin selling its newest Sha-Mail (picture messaging) handset, the "J-SH09" manufactured by Sharp, in late August.
Main characteristics of the J-SH09 are an integrated seven color "mobile light" that supports photography at low light levels. It comes with a CCD mobile embedded camera with 310,000 pixel resolution. Close-up function allows for close-up photos up to 5cm away. The screen is a 2.1 inch TFT color LCD (maximum 16,700,000 displayable colors with JPEG images via software processing) along with a built-in 0.9 inch 65,536 GF color LCD sub-display. The phone can store approximately 1,000 JPEG images with 5MB of high capacity memory.
Sha-Mail handsets now total 18 (4 of which are capable of "Movie Sha-Mail", or video messaging).
The phone's dimensions are 93 x 48 x 25 mm (when folded) and it weights 101 grams. Standby is 350 hours with 130 minutes of talktime. The hanset can store 375kb of e-mails and up to 100 downloaded Java applications.'"
