Telkomsel Replaces its Billing Software

Published on:

Indonesia's largest mobile services provider, Telkomsel has implimented the Convergys' Geneva software to rate and bill its GSM and upcoming GPRS services. Global solutions company Logica performed the systems integration and the project to migrate Telkomsel's legacy billing system to a sophisticated new convergent billing system was completed in 6 months.

Convergys' Geneva software replaced Telkomsel's existing billing system and is being integrated with third-party mediation software, Oracle Financials, and other in-house applications using BEA System connectors. The Indonesian operator is using Geneva's full mobile functionality including its TAP3 module for global roaming.

Steven Szeto, Vice President and General Manager of Convergys Asia Pacific, said, "Telkomsel is targeting 7 million users by 2003, and it also has its eye on expanding its portfolio for 2.5G and 3G services, so it was important for their billing platform to be able to support its aggressive growth plans. We are pleased that Telkomsel has chosen Convergys' Geneva as its billing platform for all future services."'"
