Vodafone Hit by Landline Network Outage

Note -- this news article is more than a year old.

Vodafone suffered an outage which knocked out part of its landline network across New Zealand for around 5 hours.

A power outage at the network's operation centre in Aukland caused the problem, which was also limited to just former customers of  WorldxChange Communication, which was bought by Vodafone in 2015.

A Vodafone spokesperson said that the problem was fixed by around 6pm local time.

WorldxChange was primarily a B2B service provider, so the impact was felt mostly by Vodafone's business customers.

Around 30,000 customers were affected by the outage.
