Australia's Telstra suffered a nationwide outage which took down its mobile network across the country for around four hours.
The company blamed a mobile node failure for the outage, which affected both voice and data services, but not emergency calls. The outage, which started at 12:45pm also knocked out its MVNO partners.
"The outage was caused when one of our major mobile nodes went down," Telstra said in a statement.
"The network is configured to manage this, however, in this instance we had issues transferring customers to other nodes which caused congestion on the network for some customers," the company said.
The outage was nationwide, but the impact varied across the country, with some cities worse hit than others.
Telstra's landline network was not affected.
