Digi and new CEO take network for first test drive of 2015

Late last week, Malaysia's Digi mobilised about 200 employees, including its new CEO Albern Murty, in a day long Network Drive Test and customer engagement around the Klang Valley. The test was designed to put its high speed internet network under the microscope to find areas for enhancement which will improve customer experience.
"While Digi is constantly testing its network, exercises like this quarterly Network Drive Test gives a chance for more Digi employees at all levels to engage customers first-hand and collect feedback on the overall quality of our service," Albern said.
"Customers demand a consistent and high-speed data network for their smart devices and we've worked tirelessly to upgrade our infrastructure and roll out LTE to meet this demand. With this exercise, we gain valuable insight into our network performance which contributes towards driving continuous improvement to our network so customers can enjoy the best voice and mobile internet experience with us," he added.
Fifty-two cars, 200 Digizens, 3,500 square kilometers
More than 200 Digi employees participated in the exercise across the Klang Valley where they hopped into 52 cars to cover an estimated area of more than 3,500 square kilometers around Kuala Lumpur and surrounding areas.
Digi has regularly scheduled network drive tests once a quarter since 2012, and this is the first exercise for 2015 which will examine the consistency of the telco's network coverage in a number of densely populated areas. These include, among others, Segambut, Wangsa Maju, Puchong, Bangsar, Taman SEA, SS2, Damansara and Sungai Buloh. Further Network Drive Tests will also be conducted throughout Malaysia later this month.
