Euronet Teams Up with G&D to Develop Mobile Billing Solutions

Euronet Worldwide and Giesecke & Devrient have announced an alliance that will combine Euronet's Electronic Recharge, Mobile Banking and Electronic Bill Payment solutions with G&D's SIM Toolkit technology. Euronet and G&D aim to co-market mobile recharge, mobile banking and bill payment to their customers.

Euronet's and G&D's recharge solutions enable prepaid mobile airtime to be recharged electronically at a blending of customer touch points, including mobile phones, POS terminals, ATMs, and the Internet. Euronet Mobile Banking provides account access via a mobile device and event messaging, which allows customer-defined information to be delivered directly to customers' mobile phones. Euronet Bill Payment (EBP) enables registered users to be informed of bill payments due via short-message service. G&D's STARSIM cards together with their SIM Toolkit based mobile banking application allow secure m-banking functions such as account balance, account statements and various transactions with multiple banks.'"
