Ericsson Wins 7-Year Managed Services Agreement in Montenegro

Montenegrin operator M tel has signed a seven year managed services agreement with Ericsson.

Ericsson will manage the operator's network infrastructure - including the radio access network, transmission network and core network - as well as IT operations related to value-added services and charging and billing.

In addition, Ericsson will provide field support and maintenance, spare parts -handling, support for enterprise IT and service desks for M:tel's end users. As a result of the agreement, M:tel's network operations and field operations divisions will be transferred to Ericsson.

Jean-Claude Geha, Vice President and Head of Managed Services at Ericsson, says: "This is our first managed services agreement in Montenegro and we look forward to leveraging the skills and know-how we have developed by managing networks around the world. I expect that the M:tel employees who join Ericsson as a result of this agreement will help us to continue to provide excellent managed services not just to M:tel, but to other operators as well."

The number of staff to be affected by the change was not disclosed.
