Lithuanian Network Orders Network Monitoring Software
Lithuania's Omnitel is istalling ADC's Metrica software to help manage the performance of its wireless telecommunications network. Omnitel owns and operates Lithuania's largest GSM network, providing service to approximately 60% of the nation's mobile communications market. The company is also the largest of its kind in the Baltics.
Omnitel will use Metrica for network performance reporting and monitoring, all accessible to its network managers through an Internet browser. It will provide Omnitel with quick, easy-to-access network information to help maintain service quality.
"The GSM market in the Baltics is expanding aggressively and our ability to provide a consistently high quality of service is extremely important in this competitive market," said Rolandas Ryliskis, chief technology officer of Omnitel. "Along with voice traffic, we're experiencing a sharp increase in data services such as Short Messaging Service, and we are positioning ourselves as the quality provider for advanced next-generation wireless. Our new relationship with ADC will help us maintain that position."'"
